Dr Faisal Faleh Alsaif is a pharmacist and public health researcher with a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of East Anglia. His research focuses on improving vaccination uptake, with a strong emphasis on older people’s health and public health interventions.
His doctoral research formed part of the FluCare programme and focused on the development and evaluation of evidence-based behavioural interventions to improve influenza vaccination rates in care home settings. His work integrates established theoretical and methodological frameworks, including the Medical Research Council (MRC) guidance for complex interventions and the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF), to understand and address behavioural, organisational, and policy-related barriers to vaccination.
Dr Alsaif has conducted mixed-methods research, including systematic reviews, national surveys of local authorities, qualitative interviews with vaccine providers, and advanced statistical analyses to examine associations between intervention strategies and vaccination outcomes. He has also led work identifying and mapping Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs) to support the effective implementation of in-care home vaccination clinics.
His research contributes to strengthening the role of pharmacists in vaccination services and supports evidence-informed policy and practice aimed at improving access to vaccination and protecting vulnerable populations in care home settings.
